The ZEC Pontiac is a "zone d'exploitation contrôlée" (controlled harvesting zone) (ZEC) located in Pontiac Regional County Municipality, in Quebec, in Canada.

The zec is managed by the "Association de la réserve Pontiac inc". The administrative office is located in Gracefield.

The zec is mainly a hunting and fishing area, with recreotouristic activities in the region of Outaouais.

Geography

The territory of the ZEC covers an area of 1205 km². The zec territory straddles the Pontiac Regional County Municipality and La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau Regional County Municipality.

Hydrography

The territory of the ZEC has 350 lakes for fishing the brook trout, golden, trout and pike. The Brodtkorb lake is the busiest lake speckled trout (brook trout) in the Outaouais region.

Wildlife

The hunting is on the ZEC as periods, hunting gear, sex of animals (moose) and quotas for the following species: moose, white-tailed deer, black bear, hare and grouse.

Zec restrains the use of gasoline engine on some lakes. Winter fishing is allowed on Mc Nally lakes, Depot, Evan, Gloria, Herman, Leblanc and Trump (porcupine).

Quatas for fishing is applicable for the following species: brook trout, lake trout, pike, walleye and bass.

Tourism

Zec Pontiac is very popular for the practice of various outdoor activities (mountain biking, cycling, canoeing, camping, hiking, holiday, hunting, fishing). Visitors take advantage of long beaches of lakes David and Pythonga.

Gathering wild fruits (blueberries, raspberries and blackberries) is popular in July and August.

Several rustic or equipment campgrounds are available in the zec. There are also country 3 cottages and 5 rental shelters.
