Zamenis is a genus of nonvenomous Old World snakes in the Colubridae family.

Nota bene: A binomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Zamenis.

Etymology

The specific name, hohenackeri, is in honor of Rudolph Friedrich Hohenacker, who was a Swiss missionary, physician, and naturalist.[2]
