Zalmen Mlotek
Zalmen Mlotek is the Artistic Director of the National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene, the longest continuously running Yiddish theatre in the United States[1]. Mlotek received his formal training as a classical conductor at the Julliard School of Music where he studied under Leonard Bernstein, the New England Conservatory of Music, the Tanglewood Music Center, Manhattan School of Music and Mannes School of Music[2][3]. Mlotek brought Yiddish and Klezmer music to the Broadway and Off-Broadway stages with musicals he co-wrote including the Tony nominated Those Were The Days[4], The Golden Land[5] and On Second Avenue[6].
