Yvonne Maria Schäfer (born September 28, 1975), is a German actress, model and producer. [1] [2]

Early life

Schäfer was born and raised in Frankfurt, Germany. She grew up as the older of two children, with her mother Ingrid and her father Claus-Peter, who was a pilot. As a child, Schäfer began her career as a model and actress and studied ballet, while also doing theatre. She was discovered by a child photographer, who worked for major European catalogue companies. Later, she worked internationally as a model, being represented by agencies in Europe, Asia and South Africa. Her modeling work has included campaigns for designers and sportswear companies such as Ferrari, Gucci, Nike, Wolford, and Triumph. In the 1990s while studying psychology at the Goethe University Frankfurt, she focused more intently on her acting career and studied drama. She works worldwide in films, television, and stage productions.

She has also sung background vocals for various bands, including Joe Cocker and Vanessa Mae. Through her passion and participation in extreme sports, Maxim magazine voted her as the "Action Girl".

After living part-time in Asia and Spain, she moved in 2008 to New York City and founded the film production company YMC Films. In the States, she has been successfully working as both an actress and a producer. [3][4][5]

Career

Schäfer co-produced the thriller The Child, an adaptation of the bestselling novel by Sebastian Fitzek. The film had an ensemble cast, including Eric Roberts, Sunny Mabrey, Ben Becker, and Dieter Hallervorden, and was released theatrically in 2012.

She starred in the film Forget Me Not, opposite Peter Greene, directed by Federico Castelluccio. The film won international film festivals.

Schäfer played the character Ece, an Arabic mother and wife of a diplomat, in the comedy television pilot Man of the House, directed by Chris Backus, with Mira Sorvino and Fergie.

In the award-winning short film Lily of the Feast, she had a scene with Paul Sorvino. Schäfer also worked in the full-length feature film Lily of the Feast opposite David Proval.[6][7][8]
