Yuval Naimy (Hebrew: יובל נעימי) (Born August 31, 1985) is an Israeli professional basketball player, who plays with Unieuro Forlì of the Italian Serie A2 Basket. He plays at the point guard position. He is represents the senior Israeli national basketball team. He is the brother-in-law of Danny Klein, the team's Chairman at the time.[1]

Professional career

Naimy started his career with Hapoel Jeruslaem, with whom he won the ULEB Cup (now called EuroCup) championship in the 2003–04 season. In the 2005–06 season, he played with Maccabi Rosh HaAiyn of the Israeli 2nd Division Liga Leumit. Between 2005 and 2007, Naimy played with Maccabi Givat Shmuel. During the 2007–08 season, he played with Ironi Ashkelon, for which he averaged 14.4 points per game, in 27 games played.[1][2][3]

In 2008, he returned to Hapoel Jerusalem[1][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] as the team's captain, as well as its main play maker.[11][12][13] The newspaper Haaretz described him as "one of the most talented players Jerusalem has seen in years".[14] In the 2008–09 and 2009–10 seasons, he led Hapoel Jerusalem to win the Winner Cup, and to reach Israeli Super League Final Four.

In June 2012, he signed a one-year contract with the Russian club Triumph Lyubertsy.[15]

On August 6, 2013, Naimy signed a three-year contract with the Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv.[16]

On July 20, 2017, Naimy signed with the Italian club Unieuro Forlì of the Serie A2 Basket for the 2017-18 season. [17]

Israeli national team

Naimy has been a member of the senior Israeli National Basketball Team, and in the summer of 2010, he led the Israeli national team at the EuroBasket 2011.[18]
