Yukihiko Akutsu (阿久津幸彦, Akutsu Yukihiko, born 26 June 1956) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party of Japan, former member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature).[1] A native of Tokyo and graduate of George Washington University, he started his career in 1993 working for the political campaign of the DPJ, in 1996 he was first elected for the Diet, representing the Tokyo 24th district, he was reelected in 2000 and 2003. In 2005 he ran as candidate for the Tokyo Prefecture elections but he lost. In 2009 he returned to the Diet but he lost his seat in the 2012 elections.
