Ylands is a Sandbox game in development by Bohemia Interactive.

Development

The game was announced on 13 November 2015 when Alpha version of the game was released on Bohemia Interactive's website.[1][2] The game was formally announced worldwide on 1 November 2016 when it became part of project Bohemia Incubator.[3][4] Steam version of the game was announced on 9 March 2017. It is scheduled for Summer 2017.[5] According to game's Steam page the full version will be released 6 months after release on Steam.

Gameplay

Developers describe Ylands as "sandbox exploration adventure and a platform for making custom games." The game itself is very similar to Minecraft but also features built-in editor that allows player to make his own scenario.[4]

Ylands gives player more freedom in creation and modification of the countryside than Minecraft. Player's can create their own character and choose an environment. Environments include temperate, tropical, winter etc. The editor allows the player to create his own scenario which allows gameplay set in different eras such as Wild West, Medieval Europe or a Steampunk world and many others. Developers stated that they don't want to make any boundaries for players.[6]
