Yevgeniy Migunov

Evgeniy Tikhonovich Migunov (Russian: Евге́ний Ти́хонович Мигуно́в; February 27, 1921 – January 1, 2004) was a Russian artist, animator and cartoonist.

In the 1950s he worked in Soyuzmultfilm, but was fired over noncompliance with company's policy (he tried to implement several innovations). Later he worked at "Diafilm", a children's book publisher, at the satiric magazine Krokodil, and Vesyolye kartinki magazine.

Among his major achievements are illustrations to Aleksandr Volkov novels on Emerald City and Kir Bulychov's novels, most notably, the Alisa Selezneva series. He used his animation experience to create a "motion blur" effect in his works.

Migunov illustrations for Strugatsky Brothers' Monday Begins on Saturday and The Tale of the Troika are considered by many an inalienable part of the novels.
