Yasmeen Rashid (Urdu: یاسمین راشد ), is a prominet Pakistani politician and a Gynecologist[1][2] till recentely she has served as the Punjab Secretary General of Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. She is currently working as the Professor and Head of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department, Central Park Medical College, Lahore. Prior to this, she retired from the Government Service in 2010 as a Professor and Head of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department, King Edward Medical University. She Lost the election from the constituency NA-120 (Lahore) against the two-time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.[3][4] She belongs to a political family formerly associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party; her father-in-law Malik Ghulam Nabi was a close aide of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.[5][6][7]
Rashid is also an activist and a social worker. She is the pioneer of Feto Maternal Medicine in Pakistan and introduced services like inutero blood transfusion, prenatal diagnosis, fetal blood sampling, etc.

Political Career
She is a prominent political representative of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf She joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to start her political career. She has been with the party for a long time. She fought election in 2013 for National Assembly in Lahore, district NA-120 and lost the elections against then two-time Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
She has served as Secretary General of PTI Punjab[10]. On July 28, 2017, Nawaz Sharif was disqualified for life by Supreme Court of Pakistan Panama Papers case[11], after NA-120, seat fell vacant after Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz Sharif[12] as Prime Minister in Panama Papers case, PTI nominates Dr Yasmeen Rashid[13] as candidate for NA-120 by-poll, scheduled to be held[14] on September 17th 2017.

Philanthropy
Rashid is Secretary General of Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan[16] established in 1994, setting up the first thalassaemia center in Pakistan. Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan

Rashid is the presidentof Jahandad Society for Community Development[17] -An NGO that deals with disaster management like floods, earthquakes etc. and works for rescue and rehabilitation of affectees. Jahandad Society for Community Development aims to bring about positive change in Health, Education, and socio-economic status of the underprivileged and marginalized people of Pakistan with particular emphasis on women and children.
