Wraysbury and Hythe End Gravel Pits
Wraysbury and Hythe End Gravel Pits is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) based in Wraysbury,Berkshire.[1] The site is important for the number of bird species it features.[2]
Geography
The site is 117.2 hectares in size.[3] The site, features four former gravel pits and is within the floodplains of the River Thames and the Colne Brook.[4]
History
In 1992 the site was designated a site of special scientific interest (SSSI).[5]
