The World Trade Center (also known as WTC Colombo or WTCC) is a 152 m (499 ft) tall twin building in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The towers 39-storey towers are built over a 4-storey retail podium, and thus each tower has a total floor count of 43. WTCC is run by Overseas Realty Ceylon PLC (ORCPLC).[1][2][3]
The WTCC was opened on 12 October 1997 by then President of Sri Lanka Chandrika Kumaratunga. In the later years of the Sri-Lankan civil war, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) attacked the WTCC twice. A truck bomb in 1997 killed 15 people.
