World Peace One (or "WP1") Foundation Inc. is a Florida non-profit corporation, registered in 2008, and having received its 501(c)3 Federal Tax-Exempt public charity status on July 13th, 2010. The mission of WP1 is to "promote world peace, universal values and a more dignified and cooperative humanity through a variety of campaigns, programs, educational and local and global problem solving initiatives." The further goal of WP1 is to help secure a safer, saner future for all people, especially for the children of present and future generations. The organization was born out of its key members' and production staff's participation in events such as Live Aid, Farm Aid, Live Earth, Live8, and other large-scale humanitarian concert and broadcast events.[1] WP1 also has organized a series of comprehensive Peace Ambassadorship Programs, targeting governments, religious groups and houses of worship, corporations, schools and universities, as well as celebrity groups, women's organizations, the sports community and world youth. The official "World Peace One Ambassador" designation is bestowed only upon those persons who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to Peace, Non-Violence and World Service. According to Doug Ivanovich, WP1's founder, "The purpose of WP1, its brand and planned world movement, is to move humanity toward a more peaceful, enlightened and cooperative future.
Logo
The World Peace One name, brand, logo, mantra and movement can be converted into a quick succession of hand gestures, to be expressed by the public. The three middle fingers held up vertically represent the letter "W", two fingers up, "Peace", and the pointer finger up, "One". In effect the count down succession of holding up the finger positions of 3 , 2, 1, symbolize the following: 3 = W, 2 = Peace, 1= One, representing World Peace One.
The World Peace One Global Leadership Council is chaired by Claes Nobel, grandson of Ludvig Nobel and grand nephew to Alfred Nobel, who established the Nobel Prizes. In 1974 he drafted The Nobel Laureates Declaration on the Survival of Mankind, signed by 78 Nobel Laureates advocating support for environmental protection and humanitarian leadership.[2][3]
