"Work Experience" is the second episode of the second series of The Inbetweeners. It first aired on 9 April 2009 on E4.

Plot

It's Valentine's Day and after comparing cards, Will catches up with Charlotte, to whom he sent a card and a bouquet of flowers. She invites him along to an under-18s disco in which she will be bartending. Before that though, the boys have to endure work experience. Jay has set himself and Simon up at his father's workplace, but turns out to be nowhere near as fun as Jay promised. Will's request to be placed at a local newspaper is mixed up and he is instead sent to a garage, with Neil going to the newspaper office. Despite his lack of interest in newspapers, Neil does fine at his placement, but Will struggles to fit in with a group of people working at a place he hopes he will never work at. In order to impress his workmates, Will tells them of his "date" with his "horny girlfriend" later that night, meaning Charlotte.

Simon, Jay and Neil also decide to come when Will unwittingly tells them of his date. Friday arrives and the boys head to the disco. Simon is attacked by a young boy in retribution for accidentally colliding with him in a corridor at school earlier in the episode. The boy gets pulled away and conspires with his older and more threatening friends, so Simon, Jay and Neil head off to hide in the toilets. Will goes to Charlotte for some help, but she refuses when a man from the garage turns up and relays all of the things Will had said he and Charlotte had done. This infuriates Charlotte and proceeds to throw a drink from the bar in Will's face. Will then decides to ring his mother, and after being informed over the building's intercom that she has arrived to pick them up, much to the amusement of the attendees, the boys leave, being considered "saddos" even more than ever.
