William S. Kalema is a member of the Commission for Africa.[1] He has previously served as Chairman of DFCU Group and of the Uganda Investment Authority. He is currently the Managing Partner of BDO East Africa in Uganda. He is listed as one of the wealthiest individuals in Uganda, the third-largest economy in the East African Community.[2]
Background and education
He was born in the Central Region of Uganda. He studied at Kings College Budo, a mixed boarding secondary school in Wakiso District, Uganda. He holds the degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Emmanuel College, Cambridge. His degree of Master of Science in the same field was obtained from the University of Cambridge. He also holds the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in chemical engineering from the California Institute of Technology.[3]
