William H. Thomas (Waukesha Co.)
William H. Thomas was a legislator of the Wisconsin Territory and a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.
Biography
Thomas was born on September 25, 1821 in Clinton County, New York.[1] During the American Civil War, he served with the 3rd Wisconsin Volunteer Cavalry Regiment of the Union Army, achieving the rank of captain.[2] He died in 1898.[3]
Political career
Thomas was a member of the Assembly during the 1849 and 1861 sessions.[4] Previously, he had been a member of the Wisconsin Territorial Legislature in 1846. Later, Thomas was elected District Attorney of Waukesha County, Wisconsin in 1879. He was a Democrat.
