The Wilde Flowers were the archetypal Canterbury scene music group based in the vicinity of Canterbury, England.

History

The group was active between 1964 and 1969 but never released any records during its existence; however former members went on to form two other groups that became central to the Canterbury scene: Soft Machine and Caravan. These bands spawned a vast number of Canterbury-related or Canterbury-sounding bands.

A compact disc of previously unreleased archival demo recordings (1965-1969) by the Wilde Flowers was issued in 1994,[1] available from Voiceprint Records (Blueprint BP123CD).
