West Calder High School was opened in 1965 to take up to 750 pupils from the Calders Area of West Lothian, Scotland, which includes East Calder, Mid Calder, West Calder and Polbeth. The enrollment of pupils in the school was around 900 pupils in 2011.
They are building a new school (which will be the 4th ever WCHS building), due to open June 2018 between West Calder and Polbeth (where it is currently located).
In March 2016 there was a week-long inspection which led to the former Head teacher Fiona Rowling to leave suddenly. It was later announced by teachers that the school failed the inspection, February 2017 there was another visit by inspectors but it is not yet known what the outcome is.
