The Waterbury Arts Magnet School is a public middle/high school located in downtown Waterbury, Connecticut. The school offers students a demanding core curriculum, including six Advanced Placement classes supplemented by numerous performing and visual arts course offerings.[1] The school opened in 2004 alongside the newly renovated Palace Theater, to which the school is granted limited access for assemblies and performances.[2] Prominent features of the school include various performance spaces, state of the art music labs, a state of the art television studio,[3] and a broad use of modern technologies throughout the entire learning environment.

The Waterbury Arts Magnet School serves almost eight hundred students in grades six through twelve from towns throughout the Greater Waterbury area, including Waterbury, Middlebury, Southbury, Naugatuck, Wolcott, Thomaston and Terryville. Any student from a participating town may apply to the school. Admission is based upon the results of a lottery.
