Warren Fitzgerald (born September 15, 1968) is an American punk rock musician, guitarist, songwriter, and record label owner.
Overview
Warren Fitzgerald is best known for being the guitarist of The Vandals. He is also co-founder of Kung Fu Records, along with his Vandals band-mate Joe Escalante.
Career
Warren Fitzgerald is the guitarist for The Vandals. He has also played with Tenacious D and was a member of Oingo Boingo, performing on their final studio album and live album. He also played guitar with The Offspring on their 2008 tour.
Apart from performing as a live instrumentalist, Fitzgerald has worked as a producer, composer and songwriter, having worked with a wide range of musicians including Dweezil Zappa and Danny Elfman. Fitzgerald produced Jughead's Revenge's 1996 album Image Is Everything. He is credited as a songwriter on the School of Rock soundtrack.[1] He also provided string arrangements for the Alkaline Trio album Crimson and contributed guitar work to the Team America: World Police soundtrack. As of 2012, Fitzgerald is credited as a writer and composer on The Hub cable series The Aquabats! Super Show!, including a co-composing credit for the series' theme song and several onscreen appearances playing a hobo. In August 2017, Fitzgerald played guitar for Avenged Sevenfold's latest song, Runaway.
Outside of his music, Fitzgerald finds work as both an artist and a writer.
Early career
One of Warren's first bands was Dies Irae where he played bass with guitarist Jack Lee Galbraith (Taylor) and drummer Robert "Yoda" Hill. Later he formed the band Totally Uncalled Four and was in a hardcore punk outfit called Don't No. He was also the guitarist and songwriter for Xtra Large.
Personal life
He attended Edison High School (Huntington Beach) from 1982–1986, with Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots), Gabriel Ortiz (Serial Killer), and Amy Von Freymann (MTV-Jay).
In popular culture
Warren Fitzgerald was mentioned in the "Carpe Museum" episode of Bob's Burgers. A character named after him also made an appearance in the episode "Pro Tiki/Con Tiki" and was voiced by Chris Parnell.[2]
