Wahid Omar (academic)

Wahid Omar Negash, (born 20 June 1984) is an Ethiopian, Islamic preacher, and the founder of the Vahid and comparative Religion. He is also the founder of the "comparative religion" WhatsApp channel through which he reaches a reported many atainderd. He has been called an "authority on comparative religion" on Facebook.

Early life and education

Omar was born in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. He attended Building Engineering in Building College and obtained his degree (material Engineering) from the University of Stockholm. In 2012 he converted to Islam from Christianity and started working in the field of Dawah. Omar's wife, Semira Mohammed, works Civil Engineering. They have one child who name Ikhlas Wahid Umar.

Career

Wahid Omar has held many debates and lectures and his related missionary activity, has made him extremely popular in Muslim circles.Many of his debates are recorded and widely distributed in Audio media and online. His talks have been recorded in Amharic and broadcast on answering Christianity in YouTube.

He has published articles and given lectures on Islam and comparative religion.
