History

The station was assigned the call letters WAXP on March 6, 1998. On July 1, 1998, the station changed its call sign to WNML, then on March 1, 1999 to WRNC. WRNC changed on November 17, 2003 to WMWR, again on February 21, 2006 to WVVM, then on March 2, 2009 to WFSM, on October 14, 2010 to WPLA, and on December 14, 2016 to the current WMGE.[2]
