WKCE (1120 WKCE) is a station serving the Knoxville market. This station broadcasts on AM frequency 1120 kHz and is under ownership of Aaron Ishmael, through licensee Mid-Century Radio LLC,[1] who are now broadcasting an oldies format.
KMOX in St. Louis, Missouri is the dominant Class A station on 1120 AM; WKCE must leave the air during nighttime hours to prevent interference to KMOX.
History
WKCE had been a Spanish sports radio station as an ESPN Deportes Radio affiliate from 2007 to 2010 and then a sports station from 2010 to 2014 and then a comedy station until January 2015 when the format changed to oldies.
WKCE changed briefly to an all-news format under the moniker "1120 News Now" on July 4, 2015.[2]
WKCE changed format to an oldies station on December 5, 2015.[3]
