WELS-FM (102.9 FM) is an American radio station licensed to serve the community of Kinston, North Carolina, USA. The station broadcasts a beach music format to eastern North Carolina. The station is currently owned by Donald W. Curtis, through licensee Eastern Airwaves, LLC, and features news programming from NBC News Radio.

History

WELS-FM went off the air on November 7, 2012. On February 14, 2013 the station changed to classic hits as "102.9 WELS". The station changed its simulcast to News Talk 1150WGBR AM.

On July 3, 3017 WELS-FM changed their format from classic hits to beach music, simulcasting WNCT 1070 AM Greenville.[1]
