Volvo XC40
The Volvo XC40 is a crossover first unveiled as a concept car in 2016 as the Concept 40.1 by the Swedish car manufacturer Volvo Cars. The production model is expected to be unveiled at the 2017 Geneva motor show.[1]
Concept 40.1
Designed by Thomas Ingenlath, the 40.1 is a 5-door compact SUV previewing the new platform for the 40-series models.[2]
XC40
The XC40 is the first Volvo to utilise the new Compact Modular Architecture platform, to be shared by future compact Volvos and Chinese-built Geely[3] and Lynk & Co models.
The XC40 will be powered through the front wheels by Volvo's mew modular 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, both diesel and petrol variants. There will also be a petrol-powered plug-in hybrid called T5 Twin Engine using a 180bhp petrol version of the new engine, supported by a 74bhp electric motor.
