The Volvo B8RLE is a 7.7-litre engined low-entry bus chassis manufactured by Volvo since 2013. It was designed as a replacement for the B7RLE and the B9RLE.
Throughout Europe the B8RLE is most commonly available as the Volvo 8900LE.
In Australia, Transdev NSW is the only operator of the B8RLE across NSW, with 12 in fleet.Transdev NSW Volvo B8RLE Fleet List
In Perth, Transperth became the first bus company to operate the B8RLEA articulated bus. Transperth ordered 70 of the Euro 6 buses to fulfill its goal of having 100 articulated buses. It uses a ZF Ecolife transmission. The buses have a Volgren Optimus body, rather than the CR228L body on the previous B12BLEA buses.[1]
It is also available as a medium-floor bus chassis, known as Volvo B8R.
