Voice Notes is the upcoming second studio album by Charlie Puth, set for release in the fall of 2017. In an interview with the hosts of Today, Puth said that the album got its name from the fact that he used his phone's Voice Notes app to help him create every song. "I'm really bad at writing music notes down," he said. "When I have an idea, I just record it on my phone and then I go to the studio and break it down." He also added that the album's production had been handled entirely by himself,[1] and that the album is lyrically a departure from Nine Track Mind, avoiding the direction of "love ballads".[2]
