All Stars Young Hurler of the Year

The Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic Players Association All Stars Young Hurler of the Year known for sponsorship reasons as the Vodafone Young Hurler of the Year is a hurling award that honours the achievements of a young hurler of outstanding excellence. The award is part of the GAA All Stars Awards, in which a "fantasy team" is picked, comprising the best players from the Hurling Championship. Voting for the award is undertaken by a select group of journalists from television and the print media.[1] The award itself is one of the most prestigious accolades in Gaelic games. To be considered a Young hurler a player must be able to compete in the current year's All-Ireland Under 21 Hurling Championship.[2]
