Virginia's 10th Senate district

District 10 of the Virginia Senate is a senatorial district made up of Powhatan County and part of Chesterfield County in the U.S. state of Virginia. This district is currently represented by Glen Sturtevant.

In Virginia's 10th Senate district election, 2015, the candidates were Republican Glen Sturtevant, Democrat Dan Gecker, Libertarian Carl Loser, and independent Marleen Durfee. The seat was being vacated by Republican John Watkins. At the debate in October 2015, Sturtevant opposed eliminating the minimum wage, and Gecker supported raising it. Carl Loser accused Sturtevant of stealing his adopted children from someone else's parents, a reference to how some children are adopted because child services removes them from their homes.[1] Earlier in the campaign, Loser has also attracted controversy by allegedly threatening his campaign manager's ex-wife with the loss of her home and custody of her daughter if she tried to cause a scandal over unpaid child support obligations.[2]
