Villa Reynolds Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto de Villa Reynolds) (IATA: VME, ICAO: SAOR) is an airport serving Villa Mercedes, San Luis, Argentina. It is a general aviation airport, located 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) southeast of Villa Mercedes, in Villa Reynolds, the village from which it gets its name, close to an Argentine Air Force base.[1]
The airfield covers an area of 80 hectares (0.31 sq mi; 200 acres), and has a 1,000-square-metre (11,000 sq ft) terminal.[1]
There are currently no regular scheduled flights to or from this airport.
Accidents and incidents
- 7 August 1971: An Argentine Air Force Douglas C-47A, tail number TC-31, experienced an engine fire during takeoff. Despite the aircraft being written off, there were no reported fatalities.[3]
