Vice Admiral Ajit Kumar is an Indian Naval Officer from the Executive branch who was formerly the Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy(Dec 2013 to Feb 2016)[1] during its major period of expansion when the different schools located across the country shifted to the main campus at Ezhimala, and the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Operations)[2] of the Indian Navy from 2016. He is alumnus of Sainik School Kazhakootam and National Defence Academy and was commissioned on 1 July 1981.[3][4]
