Vasily Likhachyov

Vasily Nikolayevich Likhachyov (Russian: Василий Николаевич Лихачёв; born 5 January 1952, Nizhny Novgorod) is a Russian politician, formerly the Permanent Representative for Russia to the European Council (1998),[1] and Deputy Minister of Justice in Russia. Since 2011 he is a Russian State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.[2] He was educated at Kazan State University and served as vice president of the Republic of Tatarstan from 1991 to 1995.

Likhachyov is the son of Nina F. Likacheva and was married to Nailya Imatovna Taktasheva and has two daughters.[3]
