Vartmaan
Vartmaan (Hindi: वर्तमान ) 1994-1995 is a animated TV series aired on DD National. This series is directed and produced by Bhimsain along with animation director Kireet Khuran. This is one of the very first Indian animated series produced using 3d animation [1][2]. It gives children morel lessons of how to control one's own negative emotion. As a result, it's a victory over life problems and achieving one's goal. The leading character is purush (पुरुष) who fights for his kingdom against Sankat (संकट) a 3d animated character. There are 26 episodes each running time is 20 minutes[3]. Kersi Lord and Raghunath Seth played very important role in producing music for this animation. The production work of this animated series was taken by Climb Media.
Plot
The story is set in a kingdom. Where lead protagonist is Purush (पुरुष) his goal is to get back his lost kingdom back from antagonist Sankat (संकट, translates Trouble).Purush is like ordinary person but his goal is to get back to his kingdom. He struggles like a soldier but as a human undergoes into different emotional states where Sankat can take advantage. Sankat looks for weakness in Purush's negative emotionals then provokes (actually creates humanoid depiction of thoughts and emotions) negative manifestations conflicting with his own willpower. Sometimes Purush's willpower is lost as he listens to the humanoid negative emotion and thoughts created by Sankat. To rescue Purush from negative humanoid emotions his friend called Sahus साहस(which translates to Courage) and many more positive humanoid emotions emerge from inner self of Purush. These positive humanoid forms of emotions give inner strength to Purush to move forward and one day hopes to defeat Sankat once it for all. As the series progresses Purush encounters various manifestations of Sankat's negative humanoid army. To fight through Purush struggles continue[1]. It is still unknown how this story ends.
Characters
Purush
Purush is protagonist of the story. His struggles to achieve his goal shows how any human-being suffers from hate,greed,anger,jealousy, pride and sadness can be distractive. In the series it is a test of willpower for Purush to achieve his goal. Sometimes he succeeds in defeating Sankat's manifested negative humanoids army and then he looses his own self believes as he fails. Purush personality can be a great role model for audiences. As his friends are his allies from humanoid forms of positive thoughts. His greatest enemy is his own negative emotions and Sankat.
Sankat
Sankat is a powerful foe to Purush. He has abilities are to create negative humanoid forms of emotions and manipulate humans. He represents the negativity of all human emotions. His goal is to rule over Purush's kingdom for eternity. He is assisted by Kaloota (a crow) who always spy's on Purush's activities. Sankat personality looks like a supernatural being with horns on head and his hands looks like scorpion. He represents a negative being. He is a 3D animated character with scorpion like hand movements.
Negative humanoids
Some of the forms manifested out of Sankat are Irsha(Jealousy),Lobh(greed), Dukh (Sadness) and many more. The army of negative humanoid emotions constantly attack Purush. The challenging part for Purush is to seek help from his own inner believes and his friends called positive emotions, in order to defeat these negative humanoids.
Friends of Purush
Some of the known names of Purush's friends are vishwas (Believe),Saahus (Courage) and many more positive humanoid manifestation of Purush's inner self.
Soundtrack
This animated series has very good background music and songs. These are some of the notable songs names admired by audiences[4] [5][6][7].

Home media
It is not known why archives of Doordarshan has not released Vartmaan but it is commissioned for release and also listed in commissioned programme list.[8] [9] There are no known DVDs or online uploades are available for this animated series. However, it is expected to get released in DD archives youtube channel[10] or prasarbharati archives [11] .It is not clear whether if it gets released or not.
