Force Field VR (formerly Woedend! Games, W!Games, and Vanguard Entertainment Group, which traded as Vanguard Games), doing business as Force Field, is a Dutch video game developer based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, founded by Bas van Berkestijn in February 2005 as Woedend! Games, a division of Dutch media company Woedend! Communicatiedingen. In 2007, the company was renamed W!Games, and would developed My Horse & Me and Greed Corp.
On 15 September 2010, the company merged with Karami, a game developer founded by Arthur Houtman and Martin de Ronde (founders of Guerrilla Games) in 2010, and became Vanguard Entertainment Group, trading as Vanguard Games.[1][2][3][4] The new company went to develop Greed Corp successor Gatling Gears, mobile game Base Busters, and Halo spin-offs Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Spartan Strike.
On 14 April 2016, Vanguard Games merged with Force Field, a virtual reality game developer founded by Maarten Elshove and Michiel Mol in 2016, to become Force Field VR (trading as Force Field), a developer specializing in virtual reality and augmented reality experiences.[5][6] The company is currently developing Landfall for Oculus Rift head-mounted displays.
