Valência Futebol Clube or Valência Futebol Clube do Fogo is a football (soccer) club that currently plays in the Fogo Island League currently in the Second Division in Cape Verde. It is based in the village of As Hortas in the west of the island northeast of the island capital São Filipe.

The club has no relation to a Spanish club named Valencia CF (sometimes as Valencia FC but not often) based in the city of Valencia, not even its club name origin.

Its logo has a spiked-pointed shield with a thick black rim and is colored blue, it has a blue circle with light blue rims and has the island of Fogo in it colored grey with a football (soccer ball) inside and is covered with Mount Fogo (consisting Monte Velha, Bordeira, Pico da Caldeira and Pico do Fogo), the tallest and largest mountain in the nation.

History

Valência was founded around the early to mid 2000s and became a registered club later and started playing in official competitions.

In the 2012, Fogo Cup, Valência led the competition and became the first club outside the capital São Filipe to claim a cup title for Fogo. Valência opened its doors for competition in the 4th and recent Cape Verdean Cup and being the recent club from Fogo to participate.

Recently the club has played in regional Premier Division competitions. The club finished 6th in 2014 and 2015, first with 30 points, 9 wins and 33 goals and second with fewer 24 points and 7 wins, but scored a few more numbering 37. Their position slowly rose and finished 4th with 37 points but scored fewer goals numbering 27. The club got their best position for the 2017 season finishing 3rd and had 10 wins and 2 draws out of 18 matches. also they scored a total of 37 goals, again in two years and finished with 32 points.
