Reception

GameSpot said for the PlayStation version, "If you're a fan of powerboat racing and think it's neat that it has been turned into a video game, don't get your hopes up." GameSpot also rated the game 2.7 (terrible).[3] GameSpot said for the PC version, "Arcade racing fans looking for a change of pace may very well be intrigued by VR Sports' new Powerboat Racing. Unfortunately, the game suffers from so many flaws that it barely stays afloat." GameSpot also rated the game 4.4 (poor).[4]
