Sasi joined government service in 1984 and has served as Director of Coirfed, Handloom and Managing Director of Artisans Corporation, Kinfra and Hantex.

He was born on 12 May 1950. He is the son of A. Velu and K. Sarada. He has a bachelor in Engineering. He is married to Suma and has 2 children.
