Víctor Enrique Robles Brito (born May 19, 1997) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder in the Washington Nationals organization.

Career

Robles signed with the Washington Nationals as an international free agent in 2013.[1] He made his professional debut in 2014 with the Dominican Summer League Nationals. He started 2015 with the Gulf Coast Nationals and was later promoted to the Auburn Doubledays.[2][3][4] Robles started 2016 with the Hagerstown Suns[5] and earned a promotion to the Potomac Nationals.[6] He hit .280 with 9 home runs combined for both teams.

Following the trade that sent pitcher Lucas Giolito to the Chicago White Sox in December 2016, Robles is the top-ranked prospect in the Nationals' farm system.[7][8] Baseball writer Jim Callis said that same month that he believes Robles could be considered the top overall prospect in baseball by the end of the 2017 season, as then-top prospects graduate to the major leagues and Robles continues to develop in the minor leagues.[9] In July 2017, MLB Pipeline listed Robles as the fifth-ranked prospect in baseball.[10]

Robles was named to the World team's roster for the 2017 All-Star Futures Game.[11] On July 24, 2017, the Nationals promoted Robles to the Harrisburg Senators of the Class AA Eastern League.[12]

Scouting report

Robles is considered a five-tool player, with speed as his best asset and power lagging somewhat behind the others.[13] His speed has been compared to Nationals center fielder and shortstop Trea Turner, one of the fastest runners in Major League Baseball.[14]
