Club career
A product of RCD Espanyol's youth system, Ibáñez was born in Barcelona, Catalonia, and he made his senior debut with the reserves in 2007, in Segunda División B. After two unsuccessful loan stints at CD Castellón[1] and SD Eibar,[2] he left the club in 2011 and signed for Lleida Esportiu; all of the sides competed in the same division.
On 4 July 2012, Ibáñez joined FC Cartagena in the third tier.[3] On 9 July of the following year, after being the Ricardo Zamora Trophy of his group, he moved to fellow league team UD Almería B.[4]
On 3 July 2014, after being an undisputed starter, Ibáñez agreed to a two-year deal with Segunda División side AD Alcorcón.[5] In September, however, after being deemed suplus to requirements by manager José Bordalás, he terminated the first year of his contract and signed for Real Zaragoza B the following month.[6]
On 15 July 2015, after definitely cutting ties with the former, Ibáñez moved to CE L'Hospitalet on a one-year deal.[7] On 10 January 2017 he moved abroad for the first time, joining J2 League club FC Gifu,[8] and he made his professional debut on 26 February by starting in a 2–2 home draw against Renofa Yamaguchi FC.
