Västgöta Nation, Linköping

Västgöta Nation in Linköping is a student nation at Linköping University in Sweden. The nation was founded in 1984 and has a clubhouse named Ättestupan, which is located in Ryd, a residential area where many of the university's students reside.[1] The nation's current chairman is Hjalmar Nord, and its inspektor is Dr. Marcus Wallenberg. [2] Originally, the nation was founded as a meeting place for students from Västergötland, though today its members come from all over Sweden. Together with Wermlands Nation, it is one of two active student nations in Linköping. The nation's foremost purpose is acting as a meeting place for students, although from time to time, it arranges parties, competitions and other events.

Ättestupan

Ättestupan is the official clubhouse of the nation since 1989, and is used as a meeting place and party venue. Every Tuesday evening during the academic year, Ättestupan is open for board gaming and tabletop role-playing, alternating between the two activities every week. On Thursdays, Ättestupan is used as a meeting place, where members come to enjoy each other's company. Aside from the regular activities, special events and parties are sometimes held at Ättestupan. Maintenance of the venue and hosting of activities is done as volunteer work by the nation's members, and members are welcome to use the venue for private activities, provided these don't get in the way of the nation's activities. West Gothia Altus

In 1999, West Gothia Altus, commonly abbreviated as WGA, was founded as a society for university alumni and members of former nation administrations. To join WGA, one must have completed their studies at Linköping University, or been part of the administration for a year. While WGA members are welcome to all nation activities, they have no votes at nation meetings.
