Utthara Unni is an Indian film actress[1] who predominantly works in Tamil and Malayalam films. She made her debut in Vavval Pasanga (2012) directed by Suresh and She made her Malayalam debut through the film Edavappathy directed by Lenin Rajendran which also won her the Kerala State Film Critics award for best debut [2][3]directed by Lenin Rajendran is still awaiting release. [4][5] She started her career as a Model for the product Dhathri real slim oil and she represented SriKumarans, Bhima Jewellers and Emmanuval silks.
Utthara Unni is also a singer and has released the Album Pathirapontheril recently [6] and she is also the head of dance school Angopanga situated at Bahrain.[7] She is an Internationally acclaimed Bharathanatyam dancer and is a member of UNESCO World Dance Council. She also runs her own dance academies named Angopanga in Bahrain and Temple Steps in Mumbai..[8] She has directed a short film Randaam Varavu which won her 5 awards for best direction.

Personal life
Utthara Unni is the daughter of famous Malayalam actress Urmila Unni.[9] She was born into the Royal family of Thiruvalla Nedumbarath Palace to Ankarath Raman Unni and Urmila Unni . Malayalam film actors Samyuktha Varma and Biju Menon are also her family members.Having finished her schooling from Marthoma Public school, Cochin, She graduated in Bsc. Visual Communication from S.R.M University and did her master’s degree in MA. Communication from M.O.P Vaishnav College under Madras University. She also holds a degree in Bfa. Bharathanatyam from Sastra University under the special guidance of Dr. Padma Subramaniyam.She started learning Bharathanatyam at a very young age and has learnt from major Gurus such as Kalamandalam Gopinath, Sunil Nellai, RLV Prashob Warrier, Kalamandalam Yamini and Dakshayini Ramachandran. She was fortunate to win the Natyamayuri title from Guntur dance fest held in Andhra Pradesh and also the Natyavilasini award from Bilai Nrithyanrithyathi fest held in Chhattisgarh. She has staged in many temples in Tamil Nadu and throughout India. She has also performed in the Natyanjali fests held at Chidambaram, Kumbakonam, Thirunallar, Nagapattinam, Mayavaram and Thanjavur. She is also the Director of a dance academy Angopanga situated in Bahrain, a venture of Echo Group of Companies. Education
