Unni R. (born Jayachandran Parameswaran Nair on 12 April 1971) is an Indian short story writer and screen writer best known for his work in Malayalam literature and Malayalam cinema.

Unni R. won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Screenplay for the film Charlie (2015), and also won the prestigious Kerala Sahithya Academy Geetha Hiranyan endowment for his Short Story collection Ozhivudivasathe Kali, which has been made into the film of the same name. It won the 46th Kerala State Award for Best Film in 2015. His notable short stories are Leela, Kalinadakam, and Bahujeevitham. His notable sceenplays include Munnariyippu, Kullante Bharya and Kerala Cafe. He has acted as a supporting role in Aparahnam, Chappakurishu, Munnariyippu etc.
