Pelita Harapan University (Indonesian: Universitas Pelita Harapan, UPH) is a private Christian university located in Lippo Village (ID, see: Lippo Karawaci), Tangerang, Indonesia, under Pelita Harapan Education Foundation (Indonesian: Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan).

UPH was the first university in Indonesia to introduce programs entirely taught in English, the first to offer a liberal arts curriculum, and the first to introduce a multi-disciplinary approach to its programs.

History

UPH was founded in 1994.

In 2006, UPH opened two residence halls, one of which was the MYC Dormitory.[1] Students at the university's teacher's college are assigned to the Teacher College Dormitory, which opened in July.[2]

In 2007, the university opened UPH Surabaya.[3]

In 2014, UPH Medan opened.[4]

Secondary school

UPH has an affiliated secondary school, called UPH College, which also has a student dormitory.[5]

Sport UPH

UPH has a winning basketball team called UPH LIMA. During two seasons in the years 2015 and 2016, player Rivaldo was crowned Most Valued Player (MYP).
