Udayamperoor is a small town situated in Ernakulam district, Kerala, in India. It is 18 km from Ernakulam, on the Ernakulam - Vaikom road. This place, steeped in history, is a major tourist destination in the district. The town is famous for the festivals organized every year in the temples and churches. The utsavam at Nadakkavu Bhagavathy Temple, Puthiyakavu Bhagavathy Temple, Ameda Ayilyam Mahotsavam and the festivals in the Synod Church are the most colourful events in the town. Udayamperoor also has a large number of small scale industries in and around. This include restaurants like Food Castle, plastic moulders like Consolidated Thermoplastics Ltd., Varmatech, Emson etc. and others like Akhila Industries etc.

It has a few major temples and churches that attract pilgrims. There is also a lake which is used both for commercial as well as recreational purposes. Traditional treatment for liver-related ailments provided by certain families is available here and it is in wider demand these days. The Synod Church of Udayamperoor in memorial to the Diamper Synod (ഉടയപെരൂര്‍ സുന്നഹദോസ്) is more than 400 years old. The Vembanad backwaters, called kaithapuzha kayal in these parts, provide a natural boundary to the geography. The Poothotta kayal (backwaters) at the southern extreme, bordering with Chempu panchayat of Kottayam district, caters for house boat enthusiasts and is embroidered by the nature with greenish landscapes and clear waters.
