Twilight Force is a Swedish power metal band formed in 2011. The band's main lyrical themes are based on fantasy stories. Their first studio album, Tales of Ancient Prophecies, was released in 2014 by Black Lodge Records. The band members want to keep their real names in privacy, so they use nicknames, The band's second album "Heroes of Mighty Magic" was released in 2016 to much critical acclaim.

History

The band was formed in 2011 by Lynd and Blackwald. After Chrileon, Aerendir, Born and De'Azsh joined the band they started with their debut album recording. Their debut, Tales of Ancient Prophecies was released in 2014 through Black Lodge Records. This album hit 29th position in Swedish charts.[1] In December 2014 Twilight Force joined Gloryhammer on their European tour. In spring 2015, they toured with two other power metal bands, Sonata Arctica and Freedom Call.[2]

In February 2016 the band announced they signed a deal with Nuclear Blast Records.[3] On August 26th they released their label debut called Heroes of Mighty Magic with Joakim Brodén and Fabio Lione as guest vocalists.[4][5] They also played at Sabaton Open Air 2016, where they recorded the whole show for a live DVD. In the autumn of 2016 Twilight Force joined Sonata Arctica on their European tour and they also joined Sabaton and Accept in early 2017 on The Last Tour.[4][6] On September 7th 2017, they are scheduled to play at ProgPower XVIII in the US. In October and November 2017, Twilight Force will play as a special guest of DragonForce on the European part of Reaching into Infinity World Tour.[7]
