Twenty One Two (also known as fastfrwrdmusic[1]) is a Swedish musical duo composed of Mikael Olsson (vocals and guitar) and Rickard Lindvall (drums and percussion) formed in 2013. The group is famously known for covering popular songs and using elements of pop punk, pop rock, and acoustic music.
Background
Mikael Olsson and Rickard Lindvall became friends after meeting each other playing ice hockey together at a young age.[2] Around the age of 10, the two grew a passion for drums, piano, guitar, and singing. In their teenage years, Olsson and Lindvall both became influenced by several pop punk bands such as Fall Out Boy, blink 182, Green Day, Paramore, Broadway Calls, Dead to Me, My Chemical Romance, Weezer, among numerous others.[2]
The band first launched their YouTube channel under the alias of "fastfrwdmusic" in 2013. Some of their first covers published to their channel were "Roar" by Katy Perry, "Stay" by Rihanna and "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus. Some of their most popular and most viewed music covers are "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding with 2.5 million views,[3] "Chandelier" by Sia with 3.4 million views,[4] and "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift being their most popular cover video with 3.8 million views.[5]
