Turing House is a co-educational secondary school that was opened in 2015 under the Government's free schools initiative.

It is named in honour of Alan Turing the famous mathematician that lived for a while in Teddington when he worked at the National Physical Laboratory.[1] The academic sponsor is the Russell Education Trust, who have opened four other new free schools in recent years.

Site

Due to problems securing a permanent site large enough for a secondary school it has been temporarily housed in a converted office block in Teddington in the London Borough of Richmond, south-west London, using local sports facilities at Bushy Park.[2] It plans to move to a permanent site in Whitton, on the Bridge Farm Nursery site, next to Heathfield Recreation Ground in 2020.[3]

Admissions

Though the school is a Free School and independent from local education authority control, admissions for year 7 are still handled by Richmond Council schools admission team.
