History

The company was established in January 2001 through an accord of the following companies:

• Mizuho Trust & Banking Co,. Ltd.
• The Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, Ltd.
• The Fuji Bank, Ltd.
• The Industrial Bank of Japan, Ltd.
• Asahi Mutual Life Insurance Company
• The Dai-ichi Mutual Life Insurance Company
• Fukoku Mutual Life Insurance Company
• Yasuda Mutual Life Insurance Company

Shareholders

As of December 2004:

• Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. 54%
• The Dai-ichi Mutual Life Insurance Company 23%
• Asahi Mutual Life Insurance Company 10%
• Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company 9%
• Fukoku Mutual Life Insurance Company 4%
