Trowbridge is a community in Perth County, Ontario, Canada.
The part of the name "Trow" refers to Old English folklore of "dtrow", the Old English word for Troll. In folklore Dtrow were elves which would live under bridges and attack / tax people for going over their bridge. Thus Trowbridge is a reference to a "troll bridge". For the sake of easier pronunciation the D was dropped from the spelling of Dtrow to make Trow.
