Tristesse de la Lune (translates to "Sadness of the Moon" in French) is an electropop group founded by German musicians Kati Roloff and Gini Martin, who gained fame as the female vocalists in Blutengel for songs as "Weg Zu Mir," "Fairyland (Female Version)", "Seelenschmerz", "I'm Dying Alone" "Soul of Ice" among others. Both left Blutengel at the beginning of 2002 for personal and unknown reasons, and as Kati Roloff said in a 2002 fan email based interview "Blutengel was becoming too cliché" also stating a previous relationship between Chris Pohl and herself causing many issues backstage. Due to this the pair formed their own project Tristesse de la Lune. The songs typically have romantic lyrics usually inspired in their personal lives or books as well as movies. They carried over their previous contracts with Blutengels label Out of Line Music and signed TDLL to this label which is still the main source of information and releases from the project.

It was stated Kati was no longer part of Tristesse de la Lune on December 15th 2006 but Gini carries on the name and has recorded six songs (as of February 2007) for a new album. A sound sample is available on the official website which has not been updated for close to 11 years.
