Trio (Horse Racing Terminology)

Trio is a horse racing terminology and one of the parimutuel bet types. The player has to select correctly the first, second and third horses in any order in a race. For a bet on the first three horses in exact order, see Trifecta.

Hong Kong* Dollar(HK$) or Macau Dollar 10[1][2]
Japanese Yen 100[3]
Singapore Dollar 2[4]
South Korean Won 100[5]

*In Hong Kong, 'Flexi Bet' allows the minimum unit bet amount HK$1 if the total bet amount for a ticket or betline is HK$100 or over.[1]

Dividend

E.g. if you bet 10 dollars on a Trio and the final odds are 88, you will receive total 880 dollars including your stake.

Betting strategies

Type Tactics
Single Select any 3 horses in a race.
Multiple Selected horses will be formed of all possible combinations.

For example: Boxing 4 horses no.6, no.7, no. 8 and no.9, there are total 4 combinations i.e. 6+7+8, 6+7+9, 6+8+9 and 7+8+9.

Banker Pick a horse which you think has a higher chance to finish in the first three as the banker then select three or more selections, the banker must appear in all possible combinations.

For example, you pick no. 6 as the banker and then select no.7, no.8 and no.9 as the selections there are total 3 combinations i.e. 6+7+8, 6+7+9 and 6+8+9.
